Our Last Race of the Season

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Well I have to say we had such a good group this weekend, everyone was having a great time,  the BBQ was fantastic like always with Randy Phelps doing all the cooking as usual and the meat and chicken was out of this world.  A special  thank you to Randy for doing all the cooking for us he is just one great guy.  Also want to thank everyone who came to the BBQ and brought something delicious for us to eat.  We had so much food left we had another meal on Sunday for the whole club again, it was just great.

Now to our Winners, I have to say this was a real treat the last two days.  David Winterburn won top time of day on saturday  and sunday.  What a driver he has become good going David.  Then on saturday top pax went to our own Jon Peacut good goin Jon.  Then on sunday we had a three way battle for pax which was between, Jon Peacut, Scott Murchison and Troy Dewell.  Oh this was so much fun to watch these guys they  were not going to give an inch to anyone, but in the long run it went to our own Troy Dewell, way to go Troy.  You three made more people hang around to see who was going to finish on top and everyone was so excited to watch this happen.  Congrats to all of you, you all deserved it.

We also had an accident on the last day of racing and it was our President Richard Dunbar, he ran into the fence and messed up the car, but they car can be replaced the person driving it can’t be and we were so glad and happy that Richard was not injured.

You made the race of the season so exciting to watch.

One more note that I totally forgot and I do apologize for it I want to thank Jon Peacut for attending the Subaru Club friday night, he brought quite a few people into join us racing and only hope that they had a good time. We also want to welcome them back at anytime.

Thanks to all of you.We also had some out of town clubs come to join us too and one of those people also had Troy on pax for sunday and that was Keith Castonguay is only missed out by .009 and that is the closest we came this year.  So congrats to Keith also for such good driving.  Hope we will see more of you next year.   All in all this was so much fun to watch and we can only hope that we can do this all again next year.

Now down to business we have a meeting tomorrow night at Upper Crust Pizza at 7:00  if you can’t attend and want to nominate someone  for office you can email me (Sharon) and I will make sure they are put up for the nomination,  I am pretty sure everyone has my email but just in case haleychatterbox@sbcglobal.net.  Also please remember that we will be voting on the new officers at the awards dinner.   Also please remember about the awards party which is November 21st and 6:00 at Bricks Roadhouse 1800 Church Creek is the address, and it use to be Cool Hand Lukes before that.  Everyone that plans to attend it will cost you $20.00 per couple and the club is not responsible for the drinks,  everyone will pay there own bar tab.  If you are going to attend the party  I need a total count by the end of this month.  I would appreciate if everyone could please send in there money early and you can send it to Trinty Touring Club  PO Box 493234, 96046.  If this is a problem for anyone please call me and we will work something out.

Well again thanks for a great year from me, Randy Phelps our Vice President  and our great President Richard Dunbar..

Hope to see you all there.

Special Meeting 9/29/15

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We had a very eventful meeting last night.  We discussed the next race the BBQ for the race, nomination of officers for next year and our year end party.  Our next race is suppose to be on October 17th & 18th.  This may change since I received a phone call from Frank at the speedway regarding this.  As of right now I have not heard back from him.  So I will keep you informed when we get the go ahead and when we will be racing, and also a set up time.  Since we didn’t have as many people as we thought at the meeting  Glen Cash nominated Danny Ide for race steward of the next race.

Also the BBQ after the race will be at 6:00 PM and please bring something to go with the dinner, salads, something hot of you live close by, baked beans and so on.  Also the club will by the soda pop but if you want to drink please bring your own liquor.

As for our nominations they will need to be turned in at  the next meeting in October on the 20th.  If you want to nominate someone for a position and won’t be at the meeting you can email Sharon and she will make sure they get on the ballot.   We are going to need a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and 3 people at large.  So please keep in mind who you will want to put up for voting.  We will vote on this at the year end  party in November.

OK now for our party.  All elected last night to have the party at Brick’s BBQ on Churn Creek.   This will be a buffet so that everyone can help themselves to what they want.  It will be on November 21st at 6:00 PM.  This is more a kick back dinner than formal dinner like last year.   We are also going to do like we did last year and collect $20.00 per couple to put towards the dinner since everything has gotten so expensive.  Cattlemans was very expensive this year because there was no package deal everything  would of cost over $40.00 per person so they elected to go the other way. Dress for this restaurant is very casual.    This should still be fun and we will be handing out the awards also.  You will need to get your money to Sharon by the next race or the following meeting and please make sure you let her know the money is for the dinner when you turn it in.

We had another great turn out for the races. I need to thank everyone who helped with the clean up and for taking care of things when I became ill. I want to put out a special thank you to a lady we hardly get to see anymore because of her job and that is Lynette I was told she took over doing what I would normally do. So thank you so much Lynette. So a BIG thank you to you all. Well now down to business I was told that David Winterburn had top time of day with a 90.16 and Keith Smith took pax. I really want to thank Jerry Shaha for being our race steward since I elected him for the job. Everyone was really worried about this track when we were setting it up and when everyone walked the track they all said this is going to be a very hard track. I agreed and I don’t even race. So in the end I was told that everyone said it was a great track so good goin Jerry. Also want to put out a special thank you for Danny for getting the big fan down to us and a big thank you to his son Travis for doing the back and for with the fan. ok I sent out a email today about a special meeting we are having at Upper Crust Pizza on 9/29, please try to attend this is an important meeting for all of us. Need to start thinking about elections too so put on those thinking caps and go for it. Thanks again to all of you who helped with this race.

Racing August 30th

It was another fantastic day of racing.  We had 34 drivers this month with some new people and some people from other clubs  which was very nice since we don’t get to seem them very often.  Hope they will come back and race with us again.  Well top time of day went to David Winterburn with a 76.39 run and pax went to Keith Smith with a 79.349 total.

The first ten in pax were the following individuals:  Keith Smith, Jon Peacut, Troy Dewell, Gary Kerch, Scott Murchison, Mike Rogers, Ray Dibble, Bruce Lamb, Jason Fielding and Brian Berry.

It was nice to have Michael Young be able to come and race.  He has been very busy this year with traveling for the eye industry, moving into a new home and tending to his wife Debbie with her bad back.    Anyway we were all very glad to see him again.  Hope he can make the next few races we have left this year.   It was also nice to have Richard Dunbar back from his cruise to Alaska.

We truly have some very good racers out here in our club.    We have one awesome club and it seems to be growing little by little.   But to all of our club members you are the one’s who make it all work for us and we thank you.

Hope to see you all at the next meeting September 15th at Upper Crust Pizza and we will be racing again on September 20th.  Keep in mind who you want to be race steward for the next race.
