Results – Race 1 & 2

Our first points race weekend of the season was a hot one!  Race Director Jeremy McNeely designed a fast, flowing course that generated fast laps and very few DNFs.  We had a great group of racers and we really appreciate everyone’s adoption of our new motorsports.reg registration process, and all of the changes at the event to keep everyone safe.  Our thanks to all who attended and we hope to see you at the next race weekend August 8th and 9th.

While on site please take the health and safety of your fellow participants, volunteers and staff into consideration and practice social distancing, wear a mask, and wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently.

Club Update – Return to Racing in July

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We are on a trajectory to host Autocross racing at the Fairgrounds beginning in July.  Here is the updated “Shasta AutoX Challenge Series” schedule:

Race 1 & 2  July 11th & 12th

Race 3 & 4: August 8th & 9th

Race 5 & 6: September 12th & 13th

Race 7 & 8: October 3rd & 4th  (Thunderhill w/ North Bay Corvettes)

Race 9 & 10: October 17th & 18th

5 Weekends, 10 races, and hopefully a ton of fun.  Feedback from current and prior year members on proposed event changes was positive – these changes are outlined below:

1.  Online Registration using https://www.motorsportreg.com/
The Club is moving to online registration and payments starting with the July event.  The system provides many benefits outside of eliminating paperwork, including the ability to pre-register, select your run group, and work assignments.  If you are already registered with them, great, if not, sign up, its free.  Registration for the July event will open towards the end of June, when we have the best confidence that we are going to be able to use the Fairgrounds.  More details to come as we get closer to the July date.

2.  Increase in Entry FeesEntry fees are increasing to $32 for Members and $37 for Guests to cover the processing fees for motorsports.reg

3.  Self TechAs part of online registration, the ‘TTC Tech Sheet’ is available for download for your personal use.  Participants are required to self tech their entry prior to the event, and certify their helmet.  We would do spot inspections at the track to verify.

4.  Spectator Area Moved to West Parking Lot
Only registered racers and Club event staff are allowed entry into the pit area.  Spectators and guests may gather in the parking area facing the pits.  This provides plenty of space for people to maintain social distance.  Spectators can bring chairs, shade covers, beverages, etc.

5.  Other Changes
– Participants must bring their own compliant helmet.  We will not be renting helmets or asking anyone to share them.
– Bring your own beverages and food.  No ice chests / community water or food will be provided by the Club- Camping is still allowed at the facility, but there are no Club social events or gatherings planned.
Our next Club meeting is coming up on June 16th and we plan to have it at Players in Anderson, social hour at 6 with meeting at 7pm.

Club Update

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

The start of our autocross season remains on hold as we wait for the green flag to go back to racing at the Fairgrounds.  The next opportunity to race with us may be the Thunderhill event with the North Bay Corvette Association still scheduled for June 6th and 7th.  The organizers of that event are using https://www.motorsportreg.com/ this year, so I’d encourage you to sign up now for a free account, and then you’ll be ready when registration opens.  I’ll keep you posted of updates as they become available for Thunderhill, as well as when the Fairgrounds in Anderson will reopen.

Stay tuned for updates!

April Meeting & Race Canceled

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Following the latest guidelines and Executive Order from the State of California, the April race dates have been canceled by the Fairgrounds.  The April club meeting is also canceled.  The May dates are still on the calendar, and I’ll send an update as we learn more about May and the rest of the year.

Once we have the green flag from the venue to hold our next event, we will schedule a TTC meeting and set ourselves up for a great season kickoff, whenever that may be.  In the meantime, the TTC Board is staying in touch via email and text.  I will be sending a Secretary / Treasurer update to our Club members shortly to bring everyone up to date on finances, etc. since we did not have a March meeting.

If you planned to Sponsor this year, please reply so we know who to put on the t-shirts and banners, once we get to that point – so far Perry’s Automotive and Dr. Richard Dunbar DDS are confirmed sponsors for 2020.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and please stay safe!

March Meeting & Race Canceled

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

The TTC Board has met via email and decided to cancel the Tuesday club meeting and the March 22nd Pre Season race event this month, out of precaution for COVID-19 virus and potential impact to our members and extended community.  As each day brings news of tightening restrictions and further concerns about containing the spread of the virus, we felt it was safest to set aside the events this month and look ahead to April.

Our next meeting is set for Tuesday, April 21st, followed by our season kick-off race weekend April 25th and 26th.  More information to come as we get closer to the April weekend.

If you are planning to sponsor the Club this year, we are looking to finalize all of our sponsors by the end of the March race weekend.  Please bring your sponsor monies to our next meeting (Tuesday March 17th) or to the race on Sunday the 22nd so that you can be included on the shirts etc. for this year.

Pre-Season Race #2 Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Sunday’s race was very well attended, with 43 completing the event!  Thank-you to everyone who took time out of their weekend to join us at the track.  The battle for top time was waged in Run Group 4, where 3 drivers were able to get into the 52 second zone, but only one of those drivers made it into the 51’s – Troy Dewell took home the bragging rights in is DP classed Miata, beating 2nd place Danny Ide by 2/10ths.  Scott Murchison rounded out the top 3 fastest for the day.   PAX went to Jackson Bevier, with a narrow win in his Fiesta ST over Keith Smith in CAMT.  Class winners were Troy for Prepared, Danny for Modified, Uriah for Touring, Jackson for Street, and our fastest Novice was Garret Murphy in a 300ZX.

We hope you can make it out for our final pre-season race on March 22nd!  Regular season schedule begins in April, stay tuned for details.
