Officer Nominations Due + Updates from 09.19 Meeting

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Club members & friends!  We had a great turn out for our September club meeting and made progress on our planning for our final race weekend 10.21 – 10.22.  We also discussed ideas for year end awards and our awards celebration to cap off the season.

1.  2018 Officer Nominations / Volunteers are Due Now!
President
Vice-President
Secretary/Treasurer
Board Members (4 total)
We need you to help run the show for 2018!  It takes a lot of effort and coordination to put on 12 races a year, and we need people to step up and give the biggest gift they can give – their time – to making this club and our events successful.
Not happy with the direction of the club?  Want to see more action on initiatives?  Have ideas that haven’t gotten attention?  Been to several races but aren’t a member yet?  This is where YOU volunteer to help make good things happen.  Reply to this email with officer nominations or to volunteer for 2018!
2.  Minimum Events for Class Championship = 4
With a regular season of 9 events and one drop, that leaves 8 races for points.  You must have completed 4 races by the time we drop the final checkered flag on 10.22 to be eligible for a Class Championship.  Check the latest Points YTD results on http://www.trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/ to see where you stand, and come out and race with us in October!
3.  Octoberfast Chili Cook-off and Potluck Saturday 10.21 @ 6pm
Chili cooks, get ready!  Trophies will be awarded for the Best, the Hottest, and the most Unique chili, based on your votes.  There will be tables setup with power for your crock pot, and the club is providing soft drinks, bowls, and utensils.  Bring your best chili effort or a side dish, a chair, and your favorite beverage, and join us in the infield for a great time after the race on Saturday.
Potluck Items Needed:
– Chili (meat, vegetarian, hot, mild, insane, whatever you got, bring it!)
– Corn bread (butter, honey, etc.  I’m getting so hungry typing this)
– Salads
– Tortilla Chips + salsa / guacamole / dips
– Deserts
Our next club meeting is next week on Oct. 17th at Player’s Pizza in Anderson @ 6pm, where we will be wrapping up planning for the ‘Octoberfast’ race weekend and finalizing plans for our year end awards event.  Officer nominations will be reviewed at this meeting and voting will take place at our next club meeting in November.

Meeting Tuesday August 15th – Racing Sunday August 20th

We will be meeting Tuesday, August 15th at Players Pizza in Anderson.  We have two events to plan – our upcoming race on August 20th, and the following race on September 17th – and need good participation from our members at this meeting to be successful.
There are 4 races remaining this year and it would be grand to have some new Race Directors to help with designing the course and organizing the events.  There are a couple of folks who wanted to volunteer earlier in the year but couldn’t due to other obligations, so this is your time!
Meeting topics we plan to cover Tuesday include:
  • Update on Finances
  • Update on Non-Profit Status
  • Follow-ups from July race
  • Planning for next two points races 08.20 & 09.17
  • Discussion – ‘Octoberfast’ Weekend Event 10.21 – 10.22
  • Discussion – Year End Awards Dinner
  • General Discussion
See you there!

Shasta AutoX Challenge Series July Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments
July’s event is in the books – I appreciate everyone who braved the heat and came out for a fun day of racing with the Trinity Touring Club.  We had a great group and had several folks who ran for time in the morning and then for fun in the afternoon – that six-week break between races was a bit too long!  Complete event and Season to Date results are posted at https://trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/  – please let me know if anything is amiss with the numbers.  I’ll have some new photos published soon.
Our next club meeting is Tuesday, August 15th at Players Pizza in Anderson, and our next points race is Sunday, August 20th.  The Siskiyou Sports Car Club in Medford is having their July event this coming weekend under the lights and I believe the car raffle for the prepared RX7 will occur as well.  Links to the SSCC website and other neighboring club autocross info is now updated at https://trinitytouringclub.com/more-info/
If you were at the event and are missing a chair, a stainless steel coffee mug, or sunglasses, please reach out to me to claim them or they go on eBay!
I hope to see you at next month’s race.

Shasta AutoX Challenge Series “June Jam” Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

A big thank-you to everyone who made it out for two great days of autocross racing with the Trinity Touring Club!  We really appreciated those who traveled some distance to race with us, those who just stopped by to see what we were all about, and everyone who was able to pitch in and help make the event run smoothly.  Randy Phelps cooked up a mean BBQ for Saturday night and everyone on Sunday got to enjoy a hosted lunch in the infield.  Thanks again to Randy, Sharon, Lynette, and Barbara for all the work to make the BBQ and lunch a big success.

The track was fast both days, though a little shorter on Sunday, and we had just a handful of DNFs.  It was great seeing different winners for Fast Time and PAX each day – run group 4 was the one to watch!  Complete race results are posted at http://www.trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/.

Our next club meeting is in two weeks on June 20th at Angelo’s Pizza on California St. in Redding at 7pm, and we are racing again in six weeks on Sunday, July 23rd.
