1. T-Shirts: Paid members can pick up their 2018 shirts at the event. Additional shirts are available for $15 each – pick up an extra and help support the Club!
2. Novice Racers: For the regular season, you can race as a Novice twice, then you must race in your car class. Pre-season races don’t count against this limit.
3. “Most Improved” Season Award: This year, we are adding a new award to recognize the racer who shows the most improvement based on their PAX progression throughout the season. We will keep track of your PAX finishes for all 9 races and see who was able to move up the most. This award is targeted at racers who compete in every points race in the same PAX class – miss events, and your year-end PAX score will take a hit. Let’s see who is able to improve the most this year!
4. Helmets: Helmets are available to rent for just $1 (and we will hang onto your driver’s license until it is returned). If you bring your own, it must be SA/MA 2005 or better.
5. 2018 SCCA Classes and Rules: We have the latest SCCA rule book for your review, and will be confirming your car class at registration. You can also download the 2018 rules and Street class categories here.
It was a sweep both days for Top Time and PAX with Top Time going to Danny Ide and PAX to Blake DeWit. Track was a little faster on Sunday due to the widening of a chicane, and some rain overnight Saturday washed away some dirt (and our chalk), so I think the surface was a little stickier.

Our final ‘test and tune’ event was blessed with a beautiful, sunny day and a great group of racers who had two laps around a track with “the most pointer cones I’ve ever seen” (said numerous people). The course consisted of 10 gates, 9 corners, and not much else in between. Some were able to take full advantage of the ‘create your own line’ aspect and posted some amazing times, and everyone did a great job with helping to keep the event smooth and safe for everyone.
Scott Murchison, in his newly ‘XP’ classed Subuaru WRX STI, put down the fastest lap of the day with an impressive 63.572. Top PAX and Street class win went to Blake Dewitt in his ES Miata with a raw time of 65.830. Fastest by PAX group were Chris Bird in his STR Honda S2000 for Touring, Jason Fielding in his Audi RS3 for Prepared, Danny Ide in his ’48 Willys for Modified, and Eric Haney was the fastest Novice in a Chrysler Crossfire.
