Pre-Season Race #1 Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Thank-you to everyone who took time out of their weekend to join us at the track Sunday for some pre-season fun.  We had a long course setup for seat time, and dry weather for two of the three run groups – run group 3 was a slippery mess, followed by some really soggy fun runs.  It turned into a longer day than we expected, but we really appreciate the racers who stuck around and helped us pick up in the rain – you’re the best!

Andrew Barbitta was the fastest driver on Sunday, with a 90.11 second time in his STU classed WRX STI.  PAX went to Blake DeWit in an HS Honda Accord, picking up where he left off last year in his Miata.  At the top of their class were Blake for Street, Andrew for Touring, Tim Hasick for Prepared in a Dodge Viper, Brian Berry for Modified in the super sexy Focus SVT, and our fastest Novice was Tim Sammut in an Audi S4.

Results are now available on the website – http://www.trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/

Our pre-season schedule is published on the Club’s website and Events are created on Facebook – check them out and plan to join us for a weekend of pre-season autocross racing February 20th & 21st.

Thunderhill Event Canceled

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

The organizers have canceled this weekend’s competition at Thunderhill due to air quality concerns for the health and safety of the participants.  This means TTC is not racing this weekend.  Registered participants should have gotten an email via MSR earlier today.

If you are willing to travel a bit more, Reno has an event this weekend and registration is open on MSR:  https://renoscca.motorsportreg.com/

We are evaluating whether we can book another weekend at the Speedway and keep our planned 10 race season and will send an update on the schedule when we have more information.

The deadline is here to sign up and race with the Corvette club at Thunderhill this weekend.  There is no onsite registration, all entrants must be signed up on MSR by October 1st @ 11am.  Don’t expect to just show up and waive sweaty money in someone’s face, it won’t work.  You need to be signed up via MSR and complete the Speedwaiver to race.

Saturday’s Class winners were Blake for Street, Jerry Shaha for Touring in an STR Miata, Larry for Modified, Boris for Prepared, Keith Smith for CAM, and Garret Murphy was the fastest Novice in a Nissan 300ZX.  Sunday’s Class winners included Blake, Jerry, Larry, and Boris.

It was a hot and fast weekend of racing with the Trinity Touring Club!  We had different overall winners each day and some very close competition.

Sunday, it was Larry Nelson at the top of the speed chart, getting around the course in a ‘zen’ worthy run of 61.373 (the only sub 62 second time of the weekend).  The PAX winner was Praneil Prasad who expertly guided his 2016 STR Miata to a dominating PAX win – great job!  Class winners included Praneil for Touring, Boris for Prepared, Blake for Street, and Larry for Modified.
