RACING JULY 24TH

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Hello Everyone,

Well if you missed racing this week oh boy did we have a track that Jerry Shaha made up for us. To much but everyone had a good time anyway. The track was just an circle upon circle and it seemed to throw everyone off. We do that so someone doesn’t always like the track and you have to try it to make it work for you. So thanks to Jerry for being our race steward at this race.

Want to thank Larry Nelson and Jim Cox for coming down from the Medford track and racing with us. They are great people and we love to see them. So on this track Larry Nelson won top time of day. Congrats to you Larry. And thank you Jim Cox for coming down to see us. We enjoyed having you.

Pax this race went to Troy Dewell and he just even do enough he can drive this car to no end, he never seems to hit any cones either, wonder what’s up with that. Anyway Congrats to you Troy.

We also gave out small cones to Scott Murchison, Darin Dillon, Cat Rice and Shawn McNelly. Now so you don’t get upset with me I have your cones put away for Cat and Shawn because you had already left. You can pick them up at the next race. And Congrats to Shawn he is a brand new driver with us and he joined the club too. Way to go Shawn.

Hope you all have a wonderful month we will see you at the next meeting on

August 16th at the Sailing Boat or at the next race on August 28th.

Also I want to thank Danny Ide for the big fan that he brings because I love it and to Brian Berry who always seem to know when I need him thanks to both of you guys I really appreciate you both.

Our first 2 Day Race

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Hello Everyone,

We really had such an awesome weekend.  We had  fantastic weather for this time of the year, we had some fantastic driving which I will explain a little later.  We had some great company come down from Medford and Eureka.  Our BBQ was fantastic as always with our chef Randy Phelps doing such a wonderful job of cooking for all of us and to his wife Barbara who has to clean all that chicken before we can eat it. I want to thank Danny Ide for bringing down the swamp cooler for us too it always seems to come in handy.  We did not use it on satuday because we had to much wind, but we did turn it on for sunday because it did get very warm after lunch time.   Thanks you so much to all of you.

Now to our wonderful world of racing:  Cat Rice did a great save on the course on sunday, she spun out,  came back on the track backwards driving and spun again to get back on track she never went off course or hit a cone,  it was so awesome to watch this and I have no clue if anyone has it on the camera or phone so if you do please send it to Travis Ide and he will post it.  I sure do hope that someone has it on their  phone.  We also had Larry Nelson come down and race with us which is always so much fun when he is around and we love for him to come down however we did miss his wife Juene so maybe next time he comes down she will come with him.    Now we also had Oliver Taylor and Paul Fritze come and race with us,  Oliver has raced with us before and he is such a great driver always nice to see him and then there was Paul which this was his first time racing with us.  He was driving a Honda Civic and man could he drive this little car, I was like are you kidding me that this car could even go as fast as it did but he was one fantastic driver, so thank you Oliver and Paul for coming down, we hope we see you both again and maybe next time Jenna can come too.   Then there  is our Scott Murchison, he has been driving like a mad man with his Subaru and man he can really drive this car we want to congratulate him , he has won the pax trophy the last three races, that  is some fantastic driving.  And then there is our own David Winterburn he is just hard to beat no matter what.  He drove both days and on both days he lost one of his fenders on his drive but he did a great job like normal.  Kiddo’s to you David.

So our top time of day went to David Winterburn on saturday with a 47.03

Our top time of day went to David Winterburn on sunday with a 47.55

Our time pax of the day went to Scott Murchison on saturday

Our time pax of the day went to Paul Fritze on sunday (He left early so he doesn’t even know he won yet)

We want to congratulate everyone that won and we truly hope that everyone had a great time.

Thank you to everyone for coming and racing we hope you all had a good time and please if I left anything out that should be posted please let me know after two days of racing I have a little memory problem as times.  Hope to see you all next month at the races and I will email you all about the next meeting too.

2 Day Race 6/11 & 6/12 & BBQ

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Hello Everyone,

Well this is our first big weekend our first 2 day race of the year.  We will be racing on saturday and sunday plus we have our BBQ saturday nite.  If you are planning on coming to the BBQ please  bring a side dish or salad, also please remember to bring your own chairs.  The club provides the meat for the BBQ which is going to be shirt steaks and chicken.  If you came the the BBQ last year these are the same steaks that Randy cooks and they are out of this world.  The club will also provide water and soda’s so if you want something stronger (like liquor) please feel free to bring your own.

We will set up friday nite at 6:00.  If you are planning on coming down for the weekend and want to camp out with us please let me know we seem to have picked up a lot of people who are going to bring there motor homes, so we want to make sure we have enough room for everyone.  Also please dress accordingly we don’t want anyone coming down with heat stroke.  We will have tons of water there and want everyone to drink it.  If anyone feels sick at any time during the racing please also let me know we will a place for anyone to lay down in the air conditioning.  Also Danny is going to bring the big swamp cooler and it does help our alot.

So we hope to see you all this weekend.  If you are traveling to come and race with us please be careful coming down.

Sharon

Medford track

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Hello Everyone,

Well it came to my attention as usual late but here is news from the Medford track. Our own David Winterburn won top time of day up there on sunday. He likes to sneak off and race up there when he has time, so congrats to David again for racing up there and winning top time of the day. I am sorry I don’t know his time but I am sure if you ask him he will let you know. It’s really a great track up there for those of you who have never gone up there, you have to try it at least once to find out. Our best again to David.

Racing on 5/16/16

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We have a wonderful group of racers this month.  Everyone had a good time and the course was a great one too.  Chase Warner and Blake DeWit were our race stewards and we want to thank them for doing a great job.

We had a little scary moment this month with Pablo Martin in his Cobra coming across the finish line backwards and not crashing into anything he even got a score to post too.  We seemed to have a little trouble also with our computer messing up things.  But all in all it was a good day, we had perfect weather and great conditions.

We really had some awesome racing this month and hope we continue to do so.  Blake DeWit and Scott Murchison did some fantastic racing this month it just seems like you can’t keep these two guys down, so keep up the good work.

We want to welcome back to our club, Lynette DeMars she is coming home to Redding once again and we love that she is just a great person and good driver too.  So then we also want to welcome back Larry Nelson from Oregon we race with him in the Siskiyou Sports Car Club up in Oregon.  There are quite a few of us who go up there and race with him, its another great club to be a part of.

Then we have Cat Rice and Halli Williams, they have raced with us before however now they live here in Redding and will now be a big part of our race club.  So Welcome to all of you.

Our best to Jon Pecaut who broke his car on this last run of the day, we hope that it nothing serious and hope to see you next month.

I want to thank Halli and Lynette for being such a big help to me when I need it I am so happy that you are all here.  Ok so next month we have the BBQ which Randy Phelps is willing to cook for us again.  So our next meeting will be on June 7th at the Sailing Boat on Churn Creek.  Hope to see you there.

Our big winners for the day:

Top Time of Day:  Blake DeWit

Top Pax of the Day:  Scott Murchison

Thank you again to all of you who support the club and help out when we are racing.
