September Race + Season Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We hosted a great group of racers this weekend to finish off the 2022 Shasta AutoX Challenge Series and kick-off our fundraiser for two local charities helping the less fortunate in our community, Toys for Tots and Adopt a Family  We raised over $1,000 through race entry fees, raffle entries, and t-shirts, which is a great start!  Our fundraiser runs through October 15th.

The weather finally gave us a break with temps in the low 90’s and cool mornings.  David Winterburn put the hammer down and brought the JBS Sports Racer home in 1st place, while Brian Berry coaxed the HPP Ecoboost Mustang to last run PAX wins both Saturday and Sunday.  Jeremy and Shawn McNeely battled it out for XP class supremacy, but ended up in a tie – typically we’d go to PAX finishes to determine a season winner, but these guys want to settle it on the track, so it is winner takes all for the upcoming Enduro.

Plan to join us for our final event of the year October 15th & 16th!  The weekend will feature an Enduro event with practice on Saturday and a full 5 laps on Sunday.  We will take time Saturday evening to celebrate our winners and decide who made the best chili!  The fundraiser raffle drawing will be held Sunday 16th during lunch break.  It is going to be a blast!  Race registration will be open soon so be ready to sign up!

August Race Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

It was another hot and fast weekend of autocross racing at the Shasta Speedway!  Thanks to everyone who made it out and to our club members for making the event run very smoothly.  We had low car counts and a short track, so it was 6 runs to the checkers with fun runs both Saturday and Sunday on a spectacular, wide and free flowing track.  We were done by about 1pm both days and beat the worst of the heat.

David Winterburn swept the Top Time for the weekend in his JBS Sports Racer, laying down some rippin laps and only slightly slowed down by the slalom that was added to the course on Sunday to improve safety.  In PAX it was Boris Podtetenieff in the Tesla Model S Plaid taking the win on Saturday, and Brian Berry in the Ford Mustang Ecoboost HPP with a margin of victory of just 0.083 on Sunday over Boris.

Results are posted at https://trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/  – note that for Club Member Season & Season PAX points, the first two of four drops are now being applied.

We are back at the Shasta Speedway for the points season finale and annual fundraiser September 10th and 11th – plan to join us!

July Race Results

Thank-you to everyone who made it out early to race with us at the Fairgrounds this weekend.  Everything went smoothly, the course was fast, we did 6 runs each day plus fun runs, and were still out of there early in the afternoon before the heat really took hold.

Saturday, David Winterburn set the top time in his JBS Sports Racer, while Sunday, it was Boris Podtetenieff in his Tesla Model S Plaid – Boris swept the PAX win both days, though only by 0.156 on Sunday over Garret Murphy in a Nissan 350Z.  Our fastest Novices were Dino Tojaga in a Fiat 124 Spider for Saturday, and Matthew Robustellini in a Mazda RX8 for Sunday.

Event and Season Results – https://trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/

We have just 4 points races remaining on the calendar (August 20th – 21st & September 10th – 11th), plus our non-points Enduro / Year End Celebration (October 15th – 16th).  For Club members, to trophy you need 4 completed events to be eligible in your car Class.

The August event will follow the same “start early, beat the heat” protocol as July, September as well if the heat stays with us.  Our annual charity fundraiser is set to start the September weekend and conclude at the Enduro in October, and we are in the final stages of choosing a local non-profit for this year, we’ll have more info at our August event.

Cheers!

Thunderhill Results

We had a lot of fun racing with the Corvette Club at Thunderhill last weekend.  The results have been tabulated and updated for our points season, so please review them to ensure all is accurate.

Jeremy McNeely was the fastest racer, taking Top Time in his XP Miata not only for the TTC group but for the whole event, both days.  Blake DeWit did the same for PAX in his ES Miata.  Boris Podtentenieff ran 2nd both days for Top Time and PAX.  There were some fast Corvettes there for sure, but not fast enough!

Our next event is coming up July 16th & 17th at the Shasta Speedway and registration is open now.
