June Results

Here are the results from last weekend’s event at Thunderhill with the North Bay Corvette Club.

Saturday was hot, the track was greasy, but the times were fast, with Boris Podtetenieff taking fastest time of the event in the Tesla Model S Plaid.  Sunday we had cooler temps and only raced in the morning, but still the tires were giving out on the Tesla, leaving the door open for Jeremy McNeely to annihilate the field in his SSM Miata.  Blade DeWit held off all challengers to score the PAX win both days, Sunday by a razor thin 0.035 margin.  Our fastest Novices were Daniel Klatt on Saturday and John Robustellini on Sunday, both in Corvettes.

It is always a great time at Thunderhill!  If you missed it this time, we are heading back in October, and we hope you can make it.  Our next event is on Sunday, July 23rd at the Shasta Speedway – registration will open soon.

Thunderhill June 3rd & 4th

We are racing with the Northbay Corvettes on the big skid pad at Thunderhill in Willows Saturday and Sunday June 3rd and 4th.  This will be rounds 7 & 8 of the Shasta AutoX Challenge Series and points races for the Trinity Touring Club.  Registration is $60 per day and camping is available for $30 per night.  There is a big SCCA event on the 3 mile track so there will be lots to see!  For those who have been before, the ‘Big’ skid pad has gotten two acres bigger, extended to the South.  For those who’ve never been out there, take the opportunity and come out to race with us at least one day, you’ll be hooked.

Anyone who attends at least one day of this event from TTC will receive a $25 credit to use at any of our 6 upcoming races at the Shasta Speedway this year!  Be sure to choose ‘TTC Member’ when you register!

May Results

Thank-you to everyone who made it out to race with us for our May event at the Shasta Speedway!  We had some fast times at the track, with David Winterburn making a clean sweep for Top Time in the BMod JBS Sports Racer despite losing an axle seal.  Rick Dunbar also gave an impressive performance Saturday, taking his SSM Miata into the 44 second zone and into second place.  PAX was all Boris Podtetenieff in the Tesla Model S Plaid for Saturday, but Sunday he left the door open for Brian in the Ecoboost HPP to score the PAX win by 0.46.  Our fastest Novice on Saturday was Bryce Gordon in a Miata, and we all got a kick out of watching the Waechter brothers go head to head for Kids Kart supremacy, with Jimmy taking the top spot Saturday and Elijah bringing it home first on Sunday.  Great job guys!

It wasn’t all sunshine and roses, as we did have some broken cars shorten a few people’s race weekend – we hope the repairs are expedient and that we’ll see you back on the track soon.

April Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Our April Shasta AutoX Challenge Series weekend went off great – we had a very fast track and beautiful weather for racing.  It was a clean sweep for our fastest driver, Boris Podtetenieff in his Tesla Model S Plaid, earning Top Time and PAX both Saturday and Sunday.  Boris is a fantastic racer and with a few more millimeters of fresh A Comp tires under that 5,800lb beast, he was unstoppable.  The only sound rivaling the ‘whoosh’ around the track was the ‘tink tink tink’ of gravel being hurled about.  Truly astonishing performance and incredible to watch.  We also had a great group of Novices out to race with us this weekend, including Daniel Hendershot in a Mustang GT, Deanna Madigan in a Nissan 370Z, John Robustellini in a Chevrolet Corvette, and Joshua Beaver in an Infinity G35, all chasing after William Klatt in his Subaru WRX, who ultimately took home the Novice trophy both Saturday and Sunday.

Please let me know of any issues with the results https://trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/

Our next autocross is set for May 13th and 14th at the Shasta Speedway.

Club Meeting:  We have our monthly Club meeting tomorrow, Tuesday April 18th, 6pm social hour, 7pm meeting, at Player’s Pizza (one of our amazing sponsors!) in Anderson.  All are welcome!
