A big thank-you to everyone who made it out for two great days of autocross racing with the Trinity Touring Club! We really appreciated those who traveled some distance to race with us, those who just stopped by to see what we were all about, and everyone who was able to pitch in and help make the event run smoothly. Randy Phelps cooked up a mean BBQ for Saturday night and everyone on Sunday got to enjoy a hosted lunch in the infield. Thanks again to Randy, Sharon, Lynette, and Barbara for all the work to make the BBQ and lunch a big success.
We had another great turn out for our second points race of the 2017 season – a huge thanks to everyone who helped with track setup and worked throughout the day to keep the event moving smoothly. The weather was typical Redding late May – nice morning, hot afternoon – and the track was a quick one lapper with some challenging corners and fast straights.
Complete results are posted on the Results page. We appreciate everyone who came out to race with us and hope you will join us again next month.
The next race is our “June Jam” June 3rd and 4th. Each day is a points race counting towards our 9 race season. We will have our BBQ Potluck on Saturday June 3rd after 6pm at the track and everyone is welcome – bring a side dish, appetizer, or dessert and a chair! The club will be providing the BBQ and non-alcoholic beverages. It should be an awesome two days of racing, so please come out and race with us, and enjoy an evening hosted by our club.
I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend and look forward to seeing you at the track in less than two weeks!
Greetings racers and race fans! Please join us for our second points race of the 2017 “Shasta AutoX Challenge Series” on Sunday, May 21st. This is race #2 of a 9 race series! Everyone is welcome – come race with us!

Hello Trinity Touring Club members, racers, fans and everyone in between! Necia here filling in for Brian on the social media front this month, so I will do my best to get all the info, shoutouts, and thanks to everyone in my first attempt at the blog!
Our first points race of the season is officially in the books, and results are now live in our “Results” tab on the website (trinitytouringclub.com). Huge thanks go out to Chase Warner for a challenging and entertaining track on Sunday. I think it’s safe to say that track gave even our most seasoned veterans a hard time when it came to remembering to keep right for their second lap!
Dave Winterburn took the trophy for Top Time of Day as well as the trophy for the Modified Class, with an incredible time of 70.746. Our Top PAX Time of the Day, and winner for Street Class, was Chase Warner with a PAX time of 61.17. Touring Class champ was Blake Dewit, Prepared Champ was Scott Murchison, Street Modified Champ was Bryan Nunes, and our Novice Champ was Andrew Barbitta. Great job everyone! If you didn’t receive your cone trophy, please see a club officer at the May 21 race to claim it!
We had the pleasure of hosting 44 drivers for this race, with a large number of those being new drivers (or new to driving with us). It’s always so great to see new cars and new faces (and old faces with new cars!), so we want to extend an extra special thank you to those of you who came out to join us for the first time this weekend, and we really hope everyone enjoyed themselves enough to keep coming out, and to invite anyone else that might be interested!
If you look at the results page, and notice any errors with names, cars, numbers, times, or any other data, please reach out to us at trinitytouringclub@gmail.com so we can get it corrected both on the site, and in the timing software. When I got all the data home and opened it up today, I noticed we were missing some information on the cars, so I’d like to make sure everyone’s information is correct.
We’d also like to start adding everyone’s photos and videos from the events to spread the word about the club and what a great group of people and cars we have. If you have anything you’d like to see on the website, the club Facebook or Youtube pages, please email it to us and we’ll get it uploaded.
Don’t forget, the next club meeting will be NEXT Tuesday 18th at Angelos Pizza at 7pm. It sounds like there will be a lot to talk about, so we invite everyone to attend to give their input, or even just to provide some feedback. If you aren’t able to attend, but have something you’d like discussed, please shoot us an email. And finally, our next race will be Sunday, May 21st, with the same routine – setup will be the evening before (the time to be announced that week), gates will open race morning at 7:30am, and driver’s meeting at 9am.
Have a great rest of your week, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in a little under 6 weeks!

Please join us for the first points race of the 2017 “Shasta AutoX Challenge Series” on Sunday, April 9th. Setup is Saturday at 5pm – please come out to the track and help us get everything ready for the race. Chase Warner is our Race Director and will bring us maps for setup. Danny Ide will bring the tow vehicle. Ray Dibble will be acting Secretary for the event.
Some of our members braved the weather and made the trip up to Medford for the Siskiyou Sport Car Club’s 14th Annual Spring Enduro last weekend. It was dry for Friday and Saturday practices, but wet for Sunday’s race. The first and last run groups got the worst of it, while groups in between had a damp but drying course. Results are posted on the Siskiyou Sports Car Club website with Danny Ide taking home the trophy for EM, Blake DeWit for FM, and Brian Berry for HS. Jeff McCollough finished 2nd in HS out of a field of 5 entries in his very first autocross race – amazing job and he had a blast. David Winterburn went out in the last run group in the worst conditions of the day, finishing 3rd in BM, however no one came close to his 2015 record for the event. Bo Jensen had to abandon his race run as a tire problem sidelined the 9 car for a while.
Check out some pictures from the weekend in our Gallery, and be sure to visit the SSCC website for upcoming race dates and information.
Our final pre-season race is in the books and results are posted on the Results page. Despite Jerry Shaha’s multiple rain dances, we raced in the dry on a very fast course! One note on the results – we had some folks who classed as Novice on the board but were timed under their car class. When we build the membership file for the season starting next race, we will be using the car class on your tech sheet. Only classed entries are eligible for season points!
Our next meeting is this Tuesday, March 21st at Angelos Pizza in Redding – meeting starts at 7pm.
Our first points race is right around the corner on Sunday, April 9th. See you at the track!
Last race before we start the season! Setup is Saturday at 5pm – please come out to the track and help us get everything ready for the race. Randy Phelps is our Race Director and will bring us maps for setup. Gates open at 7:30am on Sunday with driver’s meeting at 9am. Entry fee is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
Our next club meeting is the Tuesday following the race, where we will plan for our season opener in April.
Donate Cans or Cash = Chance to Win a free Race Day!
We only had a couple of people participate last month. We’ll try it again – bring canned goods or some dollars to donate and receive a raffle entry for a free race day! All proceeds will be donated to the Mission.
I hope to see you at the track!
