Pre-Season Race #1 Results

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We had a nice turn out for a cold but dry day of pre-season racing on Sunday.  As promised, the track was epic, the hot dogs were hot, and the competition was ready to race.  Troy Dewell turned a few wicked laps in a STR Miata for the Top Time and Touring class win, and I was fast enough to lead PAX and Street class in the Focus SVT.  Other class winners included Jordan Enloe for Modified in his Fiesta ST, Andrew Barbitta in a WRX for Prepared, and Christopher Pacilio in a Boxter S for Novice.

Complete results are posted at http://www.trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/
Our next club meeting is Tuesday, February 20th at 6pm at Player’s Pizza in Anderson, and our next pre-season race follows on Sunday, February 25th.
I hope to see you there!

Officer Nominations Due + Updates from 09.19 Meeting

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Club members & friends!  We had a great turn out for our September club meeting and made progress on our planning for our final race weekend 10.21 – 10.22.  We also discussed ideas for year end awards and our awards celebration to cap off the season.

1.  2018 Officer Nominations / Volunteers are Due Now!
President
Vice-President
Secretary/Treasurer
Board Members (4 total)
We need you to help run the show for 2018!  It takes a lot of effort and coordination to put on 12 races a year, and we need people to step up and give the biggest gift they can give – their time – to making this club and our events successful.
Not happy with the direction of the club?  Want to see more action on initiatives?  Have ideas that haven’t gotten attention?  Been to several races but aren’t a member yet?  This is where YOU volunteer to help make good things happen.  Reply to this email with officer nominations or to volunteer for 2018!
2.  Minimum Events for Class Championship = 4
With a regular season of 9 events and one drop, that leaves 8 races for points.  You must have completed 4 races by the time we drop the final checkered flag on 10.22 to be eligible for a Class Championship.  Check the latest Points YTD results on http://www.trinitytouringclub.com/race-results/ to see where you stand, and come out and race with us in October!
3.  Octoberfast Chili Cook-off and Potluck Saturday 10.21 @ 6pm
Chili cooks, get ready!  Trophies will be awarded for the Best, the Hottest, and the most Unique chili, based on your votes.  There will be tables setup with power for your crock pot, and the club is providing soft drinks, bowls, and utensils.  Bring your best chili effort or a side dish, a chair, and your favorite beverage, and join us in the infield for a great time after the race on Saturday.
Potluck Items Needed:
– Chili (meat, vegetarian, hot, mild, insane, whatever you got, bring it!)
– Corn bread (butter, honey, etc.  I’m getting so hungry typing this)
– Salads
– Tortilla Chips + salsa / guacamole / dips
– Deserts
Our next club meeting is next week on Oct. 17th at Player’s Pizza in Anderson @ 6pm, where we will be wrapping up planning for the ‘Octoberfast’ race weekend and finalizing plans for our year end awards event.  Officer nominations will be reviewed at this meeting and voting will take place at our next club meeting in November.
