No December Club Meeting

We are going to skip the December meeting this year as it falls on Christmas week.  Our next meeting will be Tuesday, January 18th.  


2022 Individual & Family Memberships will be available after the 1st of the year and registration will be open in a few weeks for our first pre-season event!  There are no changes planned for Club membership or race entry fees for 2022.  Sponsorship opportunities are now available!

2022 Shasta AutoX Challenge Series Highlights:– Running from March to September- Adding an Enduro points event to the Spring
– Partnering with Northbay Corvettes for two weekends @ Thunderhill
– October Fall Enduro weekend will be post-points season and include year end celebration + awards
– Full schedule under development the Fairgrounds

Season Finale Enduro + Fundraiser + Chili Cook-off This Weekend!

We are racing Saturday and Sunday October 30th & 31st at the Shasta Speedway, rain or shine, for the 2021 Shasta AutoX Challenge Series finale!  Saturday is practice for Sunday’s Enduro and will feature two laps per run to give you some practice for Sunday’s 5 lap main event.  Sunday you will do 5 laps all in one run, with your cumulative time determining your finishing position.  Both days are points events for Club members.  Members need to have completed 4 events in their car class to be eligible for a Season win.


Saturday evening we will be hosting a Chili Cook-off at the track – we’ll have a place for you to plug in your crockpot so bring it with you to Saturday’s event, or plan to go get it after the race and come back to sample all the offerings!  Plan to gather around 5pm – we’ll vote on the best chili and award a fabulous prize!  BYOB!

– Gates open at 5:00pm Friday for track setup.   Please come by and help us out with setup if you can!  The more folks, the quicker it goes! – Jeremy McNeely is our Competition Director and will be our track setup guide
– Campers are welcome!  Stay for the weekend!


Saturday 10.30.2021– Gates open at 7:30am for registration check in- Driver’s Meeting at 9am under the cover, followed by run groups 1 & 2- Lunch break – we are on our own for lunch
– Driver’s Meeting for late registrants, followed by run groups 3 & 4
– Fun Runs / Open Practice for registered racers if time allows- Chili Cookoff:   We’ll corral the crockpots and serve up some piping hot chili Saturday evening, starting around 5pm.  We can keep your chili warm while you race!


Sunday 10.31.2021 – Gates open at 7:30am for registration check in- Driver’s Meeting at 9am under the cover, followed by run groups 1 & 2- Lunch break – we are on our own for lunch

Registration Open for Halloween Race Weekend

Join us for the season finale weekend of the 2021 Shasta AutoX Challenge Series!   We are racing Saturday and Sunday October 30th & 31st at the Shasta Speedway, rain or shine. We are watching the weather to see if we go ahead with a planned Chili Cook-off on Saturday evening after the race – the long range weather forecast has us drying out, but the infield may be unusable after this week’s rain.  We will send out more info next week as we get closer.

Race Results

Thank-you to everyone who joined us for a weekend of autocross racing at the Shasta Speedway!  We got off to a great start on our fundraiser and had some very competitive racing.


The battle for Top Time between Troy Dewell in a DP classed Miata and Larry Nelson in the EM Brunton Stalker Super was a close one – Troy got the win both days, with a margin of victory Saturday of 0.056, and Sunday 0.118!  Saturday’s PAX winner was Garret Murphy in a STX classed Nissan 300ZX, and Sunday’s PAX winner was Blake DeWit in a HS Honda Accord.  Saturday’s Class winners included Troy for Prepared, Garret for Touring, Blake for Street, and the fastest novice was Nathan Yokum in a Subaru WRX STI.  Sunday’s Class winners were Troy for Prepared, Eddy Pacheco for Touring in a STS Toyota 86, Blake for Street, and the fastest Novice was Takeshi Murakami in a Shelby GT 500.

Our final event is coming up in two weeks October 30th and 31st, and registration will be soon, and we hope to see you at the track.  Drawing for the fundraising raffles will be Sunday the 31st.

AutoX October 16th & 17th

It’s time to go racing in the Shasta AutoX Challenge Series presented by the Trinity Touring Club this coming Saturday and Sunday, October 16th & 17th.  The Speedway is open and cool Fall weather is upon us!  With 4 points races remaining this season, it’s time to get to the track and finish the year strong!

– October Club meeting is moving to Tuesday the 12th at Players Pizza in Anderson, 6pm. 

– Season finale is now scheduled for Saturday and Sunday October 30th & 31st

– Fundraiser raffle drawings will be held on Sunday October 31st

– Tentative date for Year End Dinner is Saturday, November 13th

For the season finale Halloween weekend, we are hosting an Enduro event.  Saturday will be a traditional AutoX with runs timed separately, and Sunday you will do all of your runs in one session, with results determined by total time.  Each day counts towards Season Points.  It should be a lot of fun, and we’ll have more info + registration links available soon.

September Race Weekend Cancelled

Due to the Fawn Fire, fire crews will be using the Shasta Speedway to stage their support teams.  We will not be able to race this weekend.  There are Club members, friends, and family in the fire evacuation zone, and our thoughts are with them.   


Our next scheduled event is October 16th and 17th, and we are hoping to add another weekend of racing at the end of October or early November.  Stay tuned for updates!
