The 2024 autocross pre-season started with a hearty group of racers taking on a slalom course in conditions that varied from soaking wet to mostly damp, with a healthy dose of grit. Those who stuck around Saturday were treated to an awesome afternoon ‘fun run’ session in the mostly dry, and by Sunday the sun had returned for everyone. We took advantage of the casual practice day vibe and ran fun runs first thing on Sunday to help dry out the track and get everyone ready for a fast day of racing. The weekend’s stand-out performer was Max Power in the STU classed Elantra N, taking top time both days and leaving everyone else scrambling for second, with Jerry Shaha a very close second on Sunday by just 0.063 seconds in his STR Miata. PAX saw the return of the ES Miatas to the top of the results, with Jeremy McNeely fastest Saturday for his first ever PAX win, and Blake DeWit on Sunday landing a familiar first, this time on 5 year old tires. Our fastest Novice on Saturday was Paytonne Evans in a Mini Convertible, and Sunday saw Sean Kelly fastest in a BMW 330ci. We had a great group and a very smooth event for our first time out since October. A big thank-you to everyone for making it out to race with us!
