Results – Race 1 & 2

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Our first points race weekend of the season was a hot one!  Race Director Jeremy McNeely designed a fast, flowing course that generated fast laps and very few DNFs.  We had a great group of racers and we really appreciate everyone’s adoption of our new motorsports.reg registration process, and all of the changes at the event to keep everyone safe.  Our thanks to all who attended and we hope to see you at the next race weekend August 8th and 9th.

Class winners were Blake for Street, Jerry Shaha for Touring, Jeremy McNeely for Modified, Boris for Prepared, Keith Smith for CAM, and our fastest Novice was Drew Miller in the Ducati Datsun.

Sunday, Troy Dewell layed down a couple of blistering 46 second laps that earned him Top Time in his DP classed Miata, with Blake repeating for PAX.  Class winners were Blake for Street, Jerry for Touring, Jeremy for Modified, Troy for Prepared, and our fastest Novice was Andrew Perez in a Pontiac GTO.

Hope to see you next month!

– Run Groups 3 & 4:  Plan to arrive by 11:30am with Driver’s Meeting at 12:30pm under the cover.  Please wait outside the facility in the West parking area until run group 2 has cleared the track before attempting to check in for the afternoon group.
– Lunch break:  We are on our own for lunch and may shorten the break depending on how the day is going.

Online registration:  Registration has moved to https://www.motorsportreg.com/ .  If there is space still available the day of the event, we will open up online registration, and walk-ups can sign up online using their phone or our tablet.  Your best bet is to register online ahead of time as run group space is limited and the event may fill up.  If you end up on the Wait List, we’ll reach out to you if there is an opportunity to add you to the event.
Self Tech:  Download the Self Tech sheet as part of MSR registration and inspect your race entry prior to the event.  You do not need to bring the form to the track, just be sure to do the inspection and correct any issues before we find them at the track and send you home!

Check In:  We plan to have a check in queue for our pre-registered entries as you enter the pit area.  Please stay in your vehicle until checked in by a TTC member and instructed where to park.  You may be asked to show your ID to verify your registration.
Run Groups:  We need to restrict the number of people in the facility at one time, therefore, we are asking that if you are in the Afternoon Run Groups 3 & 4, that if you arrive prior to the completion of Run Group 2, that you wait in the West parking area until the morning groups have cleared the facility prior to queuing for check in at 11:30am.
Waivers / Wristbands:  Everyone in the pit area should be a driver, rider, or TTC event staff.  All must sign the event liability waiver and put on a wristband.  The waiver station is under the shade cover.

Spectators:  Only driver’s or riders in the pit area.  Spectators may use the West parking lot fence area to view the event and are expected to social distance.  Bring shade and water!

Other Changes:
– You must bring your own compliant helmet.  No rental helmets are available- Bring your own cold beverages and a hat – it is going to be hot!
– Camping is allowed at the facility, but there are no Club social events or gatherings planned- For Club Members competing for Season points, we will have (2) drops this year, so plan your season accordingly. – T-Shirts / Plaques:  We won’t have anything printed for this event, but we are working on it for next time.

Notice to Participants: In light of the current COVID-19 situation, every attempt will be made to minimize the risks of exposure to the virus. New processes and procedures are being developed and will be put into place for events going forward.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility to assess the risk to you, both on-track and off, and to make the decision on whether or not to participate.
